I take part in the GetYourGuide affiliate programme. When you book a tour through a link or a booking widget on this site, GetYourGuide pays me a small commission. You pay exactly what you would pay by going to them directly.
How it works
Every booking link and widget here carries my partner code. If you click one and book, the sale is attributed to this site and a percentage of the tour price comes back to me. That is what funds the writing, the photographs and the hours spent checking that a tour still runs.
What it does not change
The ranking and the verdicts. The clearest proof is on this site already: the fortress itself is about €5 at the gate, I say so on every relevant page, and telling you to walk in alone earns me nothing. The lowest-rated tour on the site is also the best-selling one, and its review says plainly that Rethymno gets 75 minutes and that is not enough for the Fortezza.
What I am not paid to do
No operator pays me to appear here, to be described in a particular way, or to be placed above another tour. I do not name the operating companies. Ratings and review counts are the numbers GetYourGuide displayed when I checked, and I do not round them up.
Prices move. The figures on this site were checked in August 2026 and the live widget on each page shows the current price before you pay anything. If you find a page that is out of date, tell me and I will fix it. The full list of tours sits on the comparison page.
