Rethymno Segway tour review
My verdict: the best-reviewed tour in Rethymno by a clear margin, and the one I send people to when they want three hours of the town without three hours of walking. Safety training and a supervised test drive come before the tour and are extra time on top, so nobody sets off wobbling. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included. The catch is the restrictions: there is a weight ceiling and a weight floor, and children under six are not permitted. The Fortezza appears as a photo stop and a scenic drive, not as a visit inside.
What three hours buys
You meet at Sofokli Venizelou 4, do the training, then ride: a viewpoint first, the Neratze Mosque and its minaret, the Fortezza of Rethymno for photographs and a scenic drive, then the old town with guided commentary and free time, then back to the start. Three hours is the longest of the town tours and the machine removes the fatigue, which is why it works in summer when a two-hour walk does not.
What it does not do is take you inside the walls. The Fortezza is a photo stop here. If you want the interior on the same trip, budget about €5 and an extra 1.5 to 2 hours another day, or book the guided fortress tour instead and get the ticket with it.

Ask for a morning departure in July and August. Standing still on a Segway in the afternoon sun is hotter than walking, because you generate no breeze of your own.
Who should book it
Families with teenagers, couples who want the town covered in one go, and anyone who has already decided the fortress interior is a separate errand. If €65 is more than you want to spend, the e-bike tour covers similar ground for less and has no weight ceiling. If you want to stop and look rather than ride, the walking tour is slower on purpose.
